Case Study

Army STEM
Education Consortium

Building the brand, communications, and learning ecosystem for a national STEM initiative from the ground up.

Summary of Project

Building the Brand, Communications, and Learning Ecosystem for Army STEM

In February 2026, Blake Learning Solutions (BLS) joined the newly formed Army STEM Education Consortium (ASEC) as one of its founding lead organizations. Established through a 10-year award, the consortium is responsible for coordinating and expanding the Army's STEM education, outreach, workforce development, and talent pipeline efforts nationwide.

Formerly known as the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), the initiative is entering a new chapter as Army STEM. BLS was selected to lead Strategic Communications and Marketing for the consortium while also supporting Ambassador Management and the development and maintenance of the Army STEM Learning Management System (LMS).

This engagement presents a rare opportunity: helping build the communications, learning, and engagement infrastructure for a national STEM initiative from the ground up.

Launching a new identity while uniting a complex network of partners

The Army STEM Education Consortium brings together multiple organizations, programs, technologies, and stakeholder groups under a shared mission: inspiring and preparing the next generation of STEM talent.

As the consortium begins its 10-year journey, it faces the challenge of evolving from the well-established AEOP brand into a broader Army STEM identity while simultaneously building new systems, processes, and digital experiences.

The work extends far beyond a logo redesign. The consortium requires:

  • A new brand identity and messaging framework
  • A new public-facing website and digital presence
  • Social media and content strategies
  • Internal and external communications systems
  • Conference and event marketing materials
  • Recruitment and outreach campaigns
  • Shared collaboration and reporting processes
  • Learning experiences and curriculum for multiple audiences
  • Ambassador engagement and support programs

Every piece must work together to create a cohesive experience for students, educators, researchers, families, consortium members, and Army stakeholders.

Creating the foundation for the next decade of Army STEM

As the consortium's strategic communications lead, BLS is helping design and implement the systems that will support Army STEM's growth over the next ten years.

Current initiatives include:

  • Leading the transition from AEOP to Army STEM through a comprehensive rebranding effort
  • Developing brand standards, messaging, and visual identity systems
  • Planning and supporting the launch of the new Army STEM website
  • Creating communications strategies for diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Establishing social media, content marketing, and outreach processes
  • Building reporting frameworks and performance measurement systems
  • Designing collaboration tools and workflows for consortium partners
  • Supporting ambassador communications and engagement
  • Helping shape the Army STEM Learning Management System and future learning ecosystem

By approaching communications, learning, and engagement as connected systems rather than isolated projects, BLS is helping create an infrastructure that can scale alongside the consortium's ambitions.

Helping shape the future of Army STEM education and workforce development

Few projects offer the chance to help define a national initiative from its earliest stages. Through its leadership role within ASEC, BLS is helping establish the brand, systems, and experiences that will support Army STEM for years to come.

From rebranding and website development to communications strategy, learning experiences, outreach campaigns, and stakeholder engagement, the work represents a unique opportunity to build something lasting—one that connects learners of all ages to STEM opportunities, careers, and pathways that support the nation's future workforce needs.
